It’s that time of the year again when blackberries grow abundantly and the garden is ready for harvest. The joy and satisfaction felt is a million times better than playing farmville on Facebook. Of course you cannot compare an online game to real life. The hours of hard work put into the farming and the reaping of the fruits is simply wonderful and joyous. We have many different varieties of vegetables and fruits this year. Strawberries, tomatoes, leeks, salad leaves, onions, jack-o-lanterns, pumpkins, melons, broccoli and cauliflower of all colours! The tomatoes are really, really juicy and looking forward to the delicious ratatouilles and tomate-farcies that are going to appear on our dining table soon.
The blackberries grew so abundantly and it’s really up to us to go around the meadows to pick them. Abundant, I’d say is an understatement. We picked a total of 5.4kg so far and had absolutely delicious blackberry sorbet in the meantime. A farmer is really self sufficient. Living on the farm and living off the farm. Fresh air, blue skies and pretty flowers. In such a setting, one forgets about shopping and delights of the city. Living in the country is delightful as well.
Here are some pictures of the delightful garden and wild blackberries. Bon appetit.

Dun forget to mention that the tomatoes too are of all colors! Red, yellow, orangy pink and black. Not to mention their size which goes from cherry, pear to huge and pineapple-ish…
